RISD Students Design Site-Specific Furniture Inspired by Louis Kahn

Rhode Island School of Design Students create furniture inspired by Louis Kahn. The RISD Site-Specific program brought together students from Furniture Design and Architecture to develop works informed by the architecture of Louis Kahn. Developed in partnership with Form Portfolios, the program resulted in individually crafted pieces that translate Kahn’s architectural principles into objects shaped by place, process, and use. We are grateful to the RISD faculty and students for their rigor and generosity in engaging Kahn’s legacy—reinterpreting his ideas through contemporary making and situating them within a present-day context.
